GTA 6 60 FPS: PS5 Pro, PS5 and Xbox Status

Rockstar has not confirmed that GTA 6 will run at 60 FPS on any console. The game is officially listed for PS5, PS5 Pro, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. The PlayStation Store also labels it PS5 Pro Enhanced, but neither Rockstar nor the platform stores publish a frame rate, resolution, or graphics-mode list.

That distinction matters. “PS5 Pro Enhanced” confirms that the Pro version receives some improvement. It does not tell us whether that improvement is 60 FPS, higher resolution, better ray tracing, steadier performance, or a mix of those features.

Update after An Extended Look: Rockstar says the 26:48 presentation was captured entirely from in-game footage on PlayStation 5. Rockstar’s platform guide confirms PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The Xbox Store uses the “Optimized for Xbox Series X|S” label, but it does not show separate Series X and Series S performance targets.

Does PS5 Pro Enhanced mean 60 FPS?

No. Sony says PS5 Pro enhancements can improve image quality, ray tracing, or frame rate, and the exact feature set varies by game. GTA 6 now appears in PlayStation’s official PS5 Pro Enhanced catalog, yet Rockstar has not described its Pro modes.

The badge is still useful news. It removes the old uncertainty about whether GTA 6 will receive dedicated Pro support. It just does not settle the 60 FPS question.

Will GTA 6 be 60 FPS on Xbox Series X?

There is no official Xbox Series X frame-rate target. Microsoft confirms that GTA 6 is optimized for Series X|S, while Rockstar has not published performance or quality modes. Any page promising a locked 60 FPS mode is going beyond the current product listing.

What about Xbox Series S?

GTA 6 is confirmed for Xbox Series S. Its frame rate and resolution remain unannounced. Series S is less powerful than Series X, but that fact alone cannot prove a specific GTA 6 target. Should you buy a console for 60 FPS?
