GTA 6 Release Time by Time Zone: PS5 and Xbox Status

The US PlayStation Store lists GTA 6 for November 19, 2026 at 05:00 UTC; the UK PlayStation Store lists 00:00 UTC that day. For the US listing, that means midnight Eastern or 9:00 PM Pacific on November 18. The checked US Xbox listing gives November 19 without an exact hour.

The PlayStation time is an official storefront listing, not a universal Rockstar unlock announcement. Check the countdown on the account and store region that owns your copy before planning launch night.

GTA 6 US release times on PlayStation

The conversion uses standard US time because daylight saving time ends before launch. Verify the source on the US PlayStation Store.

US and UK PlayStation listings show different times

The UK PlayStation Store lists November 19 at 00:00 UTC, which is midnight GMT. That is five hours before the 05:00 UTC time on the US listing. These are separately observed storefront times, not one worldwide unlock schedule.

Check the store region of the account that owns your copy. Converting the US timestamp into London, Tokyo or Auckland time does not establish the unlock time of a copy bought through those regional stores. We have not verified a complete regional schedule.

Midnight local time, or one global moment?

The checked US and UK PlayStation listings are consistent with midnight in their respective Eastern and UK time references. They do not establish a rule for every country or for Xbox. Rockstar’s November 12 local-midnight preload is a separate event; installing the files does not establish when they become playable.

Store listings can change before release. Recheck the countdown attached to your own account’s purchase during launch week. Do not use a converted US clock as proof that New Zealand goes first or that every region starts together.

What time does GTA 6 release on Xbox?

The US Xbox Store currently shows November 19 without an hour. Do not copy the PlayStation time onto Xbox until Microsoft or Rockstar displays it there.

During launch week, open the store and download queue from the Xbox account that owns the preorder. A console countdown tied to that license is stronger evidence than a screenshot from another region.

Preload starts on November 12

Rockstar confirms that digital preload begins at local midnight on November 12. Boxed Standard Edition buyers can preload after receiving and redeeming the download code. The box contains no game disc.

Preload does not grant early access. It installs locked files before the release license opens. The final GTA 6 file size is still unannounced, so check the console queue rather than a viral estimate.

Launch-night checklist

1. Finish the preload and confirm that no file is paused.
2. Install the latest console system update before November 18.
3. Check the countdown on the account that purchased or redeemed the game.
4. Confirm that a PlayStation code matches the account region.
5. Leave extra storage space for any launch update.
6. Recheck this page and your console store during launch week.

The full preparation list is in our GTA 6 launch checklist. Edition buyers should also know that Ultimate Edition does not list early access.

Can changing console region unlock GTA 6 early?

Do not buy a mismatched PlayStation code to chase a different clock. Rockstar says PlayStation code regions must match supported account regions. Xbox codes are not region locked, but an exact Xbox unlock schedule remains unpublished. A region change is not a confirmed early-access method.

Sources checked September 30, 2026. Correction: an earlier version extrapolated the US PlayStation time into a worldwide schedule. The UK listing shows a different time, so the regional comparison above replaces that inference. Store times can change.
