Grand Theft Auto VI launches November 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. US preorders are open at $79.99 for the Standard Edition and $99.99 for the Ultimate Edition. Rockstar has also confirmed a November 12 preload and a code-in-box physical Standard Edition. Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look premiered on August 27 and is now available free from Rockstar.
Those details are official. A PC version, performance modes, final file size, the next GTA Online structure and a video officially titled Trailer 3 are still not announced.

An Extended Look: what Rockstar showed on August 27
Rockstar published the 26:48 Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look on August 27. It uses in-game PlayStation 5 footage and shows combat, driving, character switching, robberies, activities and police chases.

Release date, preload and unlock time
Rockstar moved GTA 6 from fall 2025 to May 26, 2026, then to November 19, 2026. Preorders are now open and the official console stores list the same date.
Preload begins November 12 at local midnight for eligible digital preorders. The exact unlock schedule across every region has not been published as one worldwide Rockstar timetable, so our GTA 6 release-time guide keeps confirmed store data separate from estimates.

Price, editions and the physical version
US storefronts list the Standard Edition at $79.99 and the Ultimate Edition at $99.99. The Ultimate Edition includes its upgrade content alongside the base game. Eligible digital preorders also include the Vintage Vice City Pack and one month of GTA+ under the platform’s redemption terms.
A physical Standard Edition is planned, but it is not a game disc. The box contains a download code and is expected to be available for pickup or shipping from November 12 so buyers can preload before launch. Rockstar has not announced a physical Ultimate Edition.

Platforms and hardware
Rockstar has announced GTA 6 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. PS4 and Xbox One are not launch platforms. A PC version has not been announced, and historical Rockstar release patterns are not a release-date confirmation.

Leonida, Vice City, Jason and Lucia
Rockstar describes GTA 6 as the biggest and most immersive evolution of the series. Its official material confirms the state of Leonida, modern Vice City, the Leonida Keys, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia, Grassrivers and Mount Kalaga National Park. Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos lead the single-player story.

What Rockstar has said about GTA 6 Online
Rockstar has not fully unveiled the next GTA Online. Job listings, investor comments and GTA Online updates can provide context, but they do not confirm a launch date, player count, progression system or whether the online mode arrives with the single-player game. Age rating and information for parents
GTA 6 does not yet have a final public ESRB rating. Official storefronts currently show Rating Pending or Rating Pending, Likely Mature 17+. That is an expectation, not the assigned final rating.
