Jason Duval in GTA 6 | Confirmed Facts

Jason Duval is one of GTA 6’s two protagonists, and Rockstar sums him up in one sentence: Jason wants an easy life, but things just keep getting harder. He grew up around grifters and crooks, tried the Army to shake off a troubled adolescence, and still ended up back in the life he knows best.

Confirmed details

One of GTA 6’s two lead characters, alongside Lucia Caminos.
Grew up around grifters and crooks.
Served a stint in the Army to get away from his troubled teens.
Now works for local drug runners in the Leonida Keys.
Lives rent-free at one of Brian Heder‘s properties, paid for with help on local shakedowns.
Friends with Cal Hampton.

Another day in paradise

Jason’s official quotes paint a guy who is loyal and a little tired of it all. To Lucia he says that if anything happens, he is right behind her. About his life in the Keys he jokes: another day in paradise, right? Rockstar adds that it might be time for him to try something new, and the rent he pays Brian in shakedowns shows why he would want out.

Role in the story

Jason is not a blank-slate criminal. His Army background, his work for Keys smugglers, and his dependence on Brian place him inside an existing network before the main plot begins. Rockstar frames meeting Lucia as the best or worst thing that could ever happen to him. Jason knows how he would like it to turn out, but right now, in Rockstar’s words, it is hard to tell.

What the official material shows

Rockstar has published six named Jason screenshots and a dedicated character profile. They establish his Keys base, his connection to Cal and Brian, and repeated scenes with Lucia. The material does not yet confirm player-specific abilities, a complete mission history, or whether Jason and Lucia can be switched freely outside missions.
