GTA Online Heist Payout Nerfs: Full List and What Rockstar Reversed

Quick answer

The July 14 Kortz Center update quietly cut payouts on Cayo Perico, the Casino Heist, Doomsday and more by roughly 10–37%. On July 16 Rockstar restored repeated Doomsday payouts, calling them incorrect, and confirmed a weekly first-completion bonus. The other reductions remain in place.

Rockstar reduced GTA Online heist payouts with the July 14 Kortz Center Heist update, then partially reversed course two days later. The reductions were not listed in the original patch notes — players measured them in-game. On July 16, Rockstar updated its Title Update 1.73 notes to say that lower payouts for repeated Doomsday Heist runs were incorrect and have been restored to their intended values. The other cuts remain live.

The payout changes players measured

Rockstar’s own notes do not publish target-by-target numbers, so the figures below are community measurements reported after the update. Treat them as reported values, not official specifications.

What Rockstar reversed on July 16

Two days after the update, Rockstar’s Title Update 1.73 notes gained a new line: an issue that resulted in incorrect payouts for repeated Doomsday Heist Act I, II and III completions was fixed, and those payouts now reflect their originally intended values. In plain terms: the Doomsday repeat nerf was a mistake, and it is gone.

The same notes confirm two payout increases that are easy to miss in the argument about cuts: setup mission rewards for the Original Heists and the Doomsday Heist went up, and 11 classic heists — including The Pacific Standard Job, the Diamond Casino Heist and the Doomsday Heist — now carry a first-completion payout boost that resets every Thursday.

What actually pays now

  • Rotate the weekly first-completion bonus. One boosted run of each eligible classic heist per week is now the most efficient structured money in the game. The bonus resets Thursdays; Cayo Perico is not on the boosted list.
  • Cayo Perico is weaker but not dead. A Pink Diamond run still clears roughly $910,000 before fees, it simply no longer embarrasses everything else.
  • The Kortz Center Heist is unaffected by the cuts. If you have not run it yet, our Kortz Center Heist guide covers setup costs and rewards.

Why this matters before GTA 6

Rockstar is tightening GTA Online’s economy four months before GTA 6 launches on November 19. The theory that this prepares a cleaner baseline for whatever GTA 6’s online mode becomes is plausible — and unconfirmed. Rockstar has said nothing about GTA 6’s online economy, progression transfer, or whether Kortz is GTA Online’s last major heist. Our GTA 6 online coverage tracks what is actually confirmed.

Frequently asked questions

Did Rockstar nerf Cayo Perico?

Yes. Primary target values dropped roughly 20–37% with the July 14 update, and Rockstar has not reversed them.

Were the Doomsday payouts restored?

For repeated completions, yes. Rockstar’s updated notes call the lower repeat values incorrect and say they have been restored to their intended values.

Is this the last GTA Online update before GTA 6?

Not confirmed. The Kortz Center Heist is the most recent major content drop, and Rockstar has not announced what, if anything, follows it.

Do the changes affect the Kortz Center Heist payout?

No reduction to the new heist itself has been reported; the measured cuts apply to older heists.
